Santa Maria is a world-class kiteboarding destination on Sal island. The long sandy beach and turquoise waters attract riders of all levels throughout the winter season when the trade winds are strongest. The conditions vary from flat water at the upwind end to small waves further down the beach. With side-shore to side-offshore winds, it provides a reliable and high-quality playground for twin-tip and directional riders.
