Community guidelines
Our Q&A community lives on every spot page. It exists to make planning a kite trip easier — by surfacing real, specific knowledge from people who have actually been there. These guidelines explain how it works.
HOW IT WORKS
Anyone with an account can ask a question about a spot or answer somebody else’s. Every submission is reviewed by an editor before it goes live. Most submissions are approved within 24 hours. We email you when your content is published.
WHAT WE WELCOME
- Specific, on-topic questions about a particular spot.
- Honest first-hand answers grounded in personal experience.
- Practical detail: gear, conditions, schools, safety, logistics.
- Polite disagreement when you have a different take.
WHAT WE REMOVE
- Spam, promotional content, affiliate links, recruiting.
- Off-topic chatter unrelated to the spot or to kitesurfing.
- Personal attacks, harassment, hate speech, doxxing.
- Misinformation that could put riders at risk.
- Content that infringes copyright or violates someone’s privacy.
- Duplicate questions where a clear answer already exists on the same spot.
VOTING AND FEATURED ANSWERS
Logged-in riders can upvote helpful answers. There is no downvote — bad answers either get removed by editors or sink under better ones. Editors can mark exceptional answers as Featured; those stay pinned to the top of the question.
YOUR ACCOUNT, YOUR NAME
Posts are attributed to your first name plus the initial of your last name and your contribution count (e.g. “Sarah K. · 28 answers given”). We do not allow fully anonymous posting, and impersonating another rider, brand, or school is grounds for an immediate ban.
ONE PENDING SUBMISSION AT A TIME
To keep the moderation queue healthy, each rider can have a single pending question or answer in review at any moment. Once your submission is approved or rejected, you can submit again right away.
REPORTING
Every approved question and answer has a Report link. Use it for spam, abuse, wrong information, or off-topic content. Reports go straight to our editorial team and are reviewed within 72 hours, in line with the EU Digital Services Act.
BANS AND APPEALS
Repeated violations or a single severe one (harassment, illegal content, dangerous misinformation) result in a ban from posting. Banned accounts can still browse and read. If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, write to us at hello@kitesurfingofficial.com — we review every appeal.
YOUR CONTENT
You retain ownership of what you post. By submitting, you grant KitesurfingOfficial a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and translate your contribution in connection with our community. You can request removal at any time by writing to the address above; we keep a private archive of removed content for our compliance audit trail, but it will no longer be publicly visible.
TRANSPARENCY
We publish aggregate moderation statistics — total content reviewed, average response time, and bans issued — on request. Email hello@kitesurfingofficial.com and we'll share the latest report.
