Trusted Network
directory guidelines.
How KitesurfingOfficial keeps the directory of kite schools, shops and trips useful, transparent and relevant for riders worldwide.
Eligible businesses
What can be listed.
The KSO directory accepts listings for kite-specific businesses that serve riders directly.
Kite schools
Businesses offering kitesurf instruction — IKO, VDWS, independent or equivalent certified.
Kite shops
Physical shops or primarily kitesurf-focused online stores selling, renting or servicing gear.
Kite trips
Structured multi-day camps, safaris, clinics, tours and downwind expeditions.
Coaches
Independent instructors with a recognized certification offering private or group sessions.
Repair services
Kite canopy repair, bar repair, board repair or full-service gear maintenance.
Rental services
Standalone gear rental services or rental as a core part of a school or shop offering.
Businesses with no kitesurf-specific focus, permanently closed operations, or listings created for SEO purposes without a real business are not eligible and may be removed.
Quality standards
What makes a good listing.
Every field you complete makes your profile more useful to riders and improves your Trust Score.
Accurate business name
Use the real trading name. Avoid keyword stuffing in the name field.
Real location or service area
Physical address, online-only status or the regions and spots the business serves.
Working contact details
At least one functional phone number, email or website link.
Clear services description
What the business actually offers — lesson types, gear categories, trip details.
Real photos
Photos of the school, shop or trip — not stock images or competitor photos.
Related KSO spots linked
Connect to the real KSO kite destinations the business serves.
Honest language
No exaggerated safety claims, fake certifications or misleading descriptions.
Fresh information
Prices, schedules and contact details should reflect the current season.
Not allowed
What is not permitted.
These practices lead to listing removal and may affect the owner's account.
Fake or permanently closed businesses
Listings must represent real, operational businesses.
Misleading claims
No false certifications, exaggerated qualifications or misleading safety assurances.
Copied or plagiarized content
Descriptions, photos and text must belong to the listing owner.
Fake or incentivized reviews
Businesses may not solicit, purchase or coordinate fake positive reviews.
Unrelated businesses
Non-kitesurf businesses created to generate links or traffic are not eligible.
Duplicate listings
One business, one listing. Duplicates reduce directory quality for all riders.
Spam or placeholder content
Incomplete listings submitted without intent to complete are not accepted.

Related spots
How KSO spots and listings connect.
Linking your business to real KSO kite destinations improves search relevance and helps riders find you in spot-specific queries.
One business, many spots
A business does not need to be physically located at a single KSO spot to connect to it. A school based inland may serve multiple coastal or lake spots. A safari operator may connect to every destination on their route.
Spot-based discovery
When a rider browses a KSO spot, they see connected businesses. Linking your profile to the spots you genuinely serve is one of the most effective ways to appear in contextual discovery without paying for placement.
Example: A school based in Munich may connect to Ammersee, Chiemsee or other nearby spots if it genuinely teaches or serves riders there. A safari operator running routes from Tarifa to Dakhla can connect to every destination along the route.
Quality and admin
How KSO keeps the directory accurate.
KSO runs automated and manual quality checks to protect the directory's usefulness for riders.
Duplicate detection
Automated signals flag potential duplicates for manual review before both are published.
Profile completeness
Every listing has a completeness score. Incomplete profiles surface less prominently.
Trust signal review
KSO reviews verification claims, ownership signals and review patterns manually.
Freshness checks
Profiles with stale data are flagged and owners are prompted to update.
Rider reports
Any user can report incorrect or misleading information via the listing's report link.
Quality flags
Listings with safety concerns, false claims or policy violations are reviewed and may be hidden.
