Corrections policy
Accuracy is the foundation of trust. When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly, openly and on the record. This policy explains how. It sits alongside our Editorial standards and Code of ethics.
HOW WE HANDLE CHANGES
We distinguish four cases, and we label the article accordingly:
- Correction — a factual error (a name, number, date, result or quote). We fix the text and add a dated correction note.
- Update — the story has moved on or new information is available. We add the new facts and mark the article as updated.
- Clarification — the facts were right but the wording could mislead. We rephrase and note the clarification.
- Retraction — an article turns out to be unfounded. We retract it, mark it clearly, and remove it from our news feeds and sitemap; the page is set to no-index rather than deleted.
WE NEVER SILENTLY DELETE
We do not quietly remove or rewrite published articles to hide a mistake. A material change is always accompanied by a visible note and an updated modification date, so the record stays honest.
HOW TO REPORT AN ERROR
If you believe something we published is inaccurate, out of date, or infringes your rights, email philip@kitesurfingofficial.com with the article URL and the specific detail. Rights holders and people mentioned in a story are always welcome to reach out.
OUR RESPONSE
We aim to acknowledge correction requests within a few working days and to correct genuine, verifiable errors promptly once confirmed. If we decide not to change something, we will explain why.
