Probably the most honest kite assistant on the web
The KSO AI Assistant is an AI assistant built for kitesurfing — for the questions every rider has on repeat: what kite size do I need?, which kitesurf spots match my level?, how's the wind tomorrow?, what gear actually makes sense for me?. Instead of being a generic AI, it's shaped by the knowledge of the KitesurfingOfficial community.
Kite size, fast and grounded
Just ask "what kite size at 80 kg and 20 knots?" — it runs the math deterministically through our internal kite size calculator, returns a recommendation in m² and tells you the practical wind range that size will actually cover. Add style (freeride, big air, wave, foil), skill level and board type and the answer gets sharper.
Kitesurf spots & trip planning
Planning a kite trip? Ask for the best kitesurf spots in February in Africa, compare Tarifa vs. Fuerteventura, or have it surface beginner-friendly lagoons. The assistant uses our spot atlas of more than 1,250 spots worldwide and pulls live weather when a real destination is in play.
Wind, forecast & conditions
We blend two independent forecast models — far more robust than trusting any single source. Ask for the next few days, seasonal trends, or thermal wind behaviour. For quick conversion between knots, km/h, m/s and Beaufort, use our wind speed converter.
Gear advice & beginner help
Whether it's your first setup, an upgrade, or a specific question about a bar, harness or board, the assistant stays brand-neutral. Beginners can dive into our beginner hub for structured fundamentals, and the buyer's guide helps put a real setup together.
Frequently asked
FAQ
What can the KSO AI Assistant do?+
It answers kitesurfing questions — kite size, spots, wind, forecast, gear, trip planning and beginner topics. For kite sizes it calls our internal calculator deterministically; for forecasts it pulls live data blended from two weather models.
What kite size do I need?+
Tell the assistant your weight and the wind speed in knots — e.g. "80 kg, 20 knots". Add style (freeride, big air, wave), skill level and board type and the recommendation gets significantly more precise.
How reliable are the wind forecasts?+
We blend two independent weather models and show the consensus — more robust than any single model. That said, a forecast is still a forecast. Always check live local sources and your own judgement before going on the water.
Can the assistant plan a kite trip for me?+
Yes. Ask something like "where's the wind good in February in Africa?" or "5 days in November, beginner-friendly, somewhere in Europe". It builds a shortlist with real spots, seasonal reasons, and — when the trip is close enough — live forecast.
Does it recommend specific brands?+
No. It is deliberately brand-neutral and recommends based on fit — style, level, budget. No sponsor logic, no hidden ads.
Does this replace a kite school or instructor?+
No. The assistant is a knowledge tool — not a replacement for a school, an experienced instructor or your own safety judgement at the spot.
