About this spot
Tamarindo is primarily known as a premier surfing destination on Costa Rica's Pacific coast. While the kiteboarding scene is smaller compared to the northern spots, it is possible to kite here during the windy season when the Papagayo winds reach the bay.
The conditions are best suited for those who want to mix surfing and kiting. Knowledge of local tides and wind directions is essential, as the spot is more technically challenging for kiting due to the waves and beach crowds.
