The 2026 season opener ran 16–21 February at Ponta Preta on Sal — Cape Verde's legendary right-hander and one of the most demanding waves on tour. The Atlantic winter swell and steady trades make this the stop where wave-riding fundamentals decide heats.
About the event
The Kite-Surf division of the GKA Kite World Tour is kiteboarding in real waves: riders surf with strapless surfboards and are scored on wave selection, power and strapless-freestyle airs. Results across the season's stops decide the official Kite-Surf world championship, sanctioned by World Sailing.
