The Netherlands is one of the great kitesurfing nations, full stop. A country shaped by wind and water, with a coastline and inland lakes covered in spots, a huge home scene and some of the best storm-chasing big-air riders on earth. If you want to learn in flatwater and later ride powered-up North Sea sessions, few places pack it all in this tightly.
The North Sea coast — Wijk aan Zee, Zandvoort, Scheveningen, Noordwijk (home of Red Bull Megaloop) and the whole Zeeland delta — delivers everything from flatwater behind the dunes to powered-up wave and big-air days. Inland, the Grevelingenmeer, the Brouwersdam, the Markermeer and Workum give shallow, flat, standing-depth water that is perfect for learning. Wind is frequent year-round, which is why the Dutch scene is so deep and so good.
