Kite Beach Sal

Kite Beach on Sal is the island's main hub for freeride and wave riding. Located on the East Coast, it benefits from consistent NE trade winds from November through April. The riding area consists of open ocean with wind waves, chop, and a shorebreak that varies in intensity. The beach is highly developed for kite tourism, featuring multiple schools, rentals, rescue services, and beach bars. While it is a top-flight destination for intermediate and advanced riders, beginners can also take lessons under close supervision. Riders should be aware of deep water and the potential for offshore drift in certain sections of the bay.
