Morocco gives you two very different kitesurfing worlds: the vast flatwater lagoon of Dakhla in the deep south, and the Atlantic wind-and-wave coast around Essaouira. Dakhla in particular is a bucket-list spot — a shallow, standing-depth lagoon against a Sahara backdrop, with wind you can almost set your watch by.
Dakhla's lagoon is one of the finest beginner-to-freestyle spots on the planet: huge, flat, shallow and consistently windy, with camps lined up along the water. Essaouira and Moulay Bouzerktoun bring Atlantic swell and strong summer wind for wave riders, while Dakhla's ocean side offers waves for those who want them. It is a country where you can learn in perfect flatwater and graduate to real waves without changing regions much.

Dakhla is windy most of the year, but the strongest and most reliable season runs from roughly April to September. Water and air are comfortable across that window, and the lagoon's flat water makes it a great destination in any of those months.
