Aghios Nikolaos - Lefkada

Aghios Nikolaos is generally regarded as a forgiving and beginner-friendly spot, but riders should still treat it with proper safety awareness. The wind is often thermal and can vary during the day, so check the forecast and local conditions before launching. Be especially careful in July and August when the beach can be busier with other kiters, students and regular beach visitors. Use the dedicated kite areas where available, keep enough space when launching and landing, and avoid riding too close to beginners, swimmers or kite school groups. Although the shallow water is helpful for learning, always check the bottom, water depth and any local hazards before riding. In stronger wind, the sea side can become choppier, so less experienced riders should stay within their comfort zone.
